Budget Analyst I
If you want to put your analytical skills to work in taking on some of America’s toughest urban issues, Baltimore’s Budget Office (BBMR) is hiring.
Yes, our analysts need to be handy with spreadsheets, but just as important is an interest in urban policy, strong communication skills, and intense curiosity. Although our primary mission is to develop the City’s annual operating budget, BBMR also spearheads a series of innovative initiatives that have strengthened the City’s fiscal condition and led to better results for Baltimore’s residents. Additionally, BBMR produces in-depth research reports to inform budget, policy and management decisions. Recent topics have included services for seniors, trash collection, street resurfacing, community job hubs, and the conduct of elections.
Baltimore has a diverse workforce of young and experienced professionals. In addition to having one of the fastest growing downtowns, it has many neighborhoods with wonderful food, art, and culture. As an added bonus, living in Baltimore gives you easy access to Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Atlantic beaches, the Chesapeake Bay, and more.
If you want to work in a place with a mission to use data, evidence, and analysis to improve life in a great and challenging city, BBMR is a great place for you.
